Our Approach
At Global Medicine, our evaluation is very comprehensive. We look at all aspects and leave no stone unturned. To get to know a person one has to spend time to understand their issues, examine them and formulate a course of action.
Dr. Martin and Remi love to hear the patient’s story, understand the concerns and the timeline of events, examine the patient and put the puzzle pieces together. They are very much investigators, always detailed and analytical while focusing on the big picture.
Dr. Martin and Remi’s methodology is multidisciplinary and all-inclusive. Integrative Medicine assimilates many different medical modalities and philosophies from around the world alongside conventional Western medicine.
Holistic Medicine is a patient-centered way of thinking that evaluates the patient as a whole, incorporating body, mind & spirit from a natural healing perspective. It attempts to capitalize on the least invasive and most effective therapies.
One avenue is through the use of Functional Medicine, an analysis of how the cells, tissues and organs do their job on a biochemical and physiologic level. It encompasses a science & evidence-based approach to optimize health through the practice of lifestyle modification and innovative testing.
There is a specific focus to understand antecedents, triggers, mediators, genetics, environment, toxicity and stress. The purpose is to maximize the function of your being by way of diet, exercise, sleep, nutraceuticals, detoxification and stress management, among others.
Dr. Martin and Remi practice Integrative Medicine utilizing this Functional Medicine approach to recreate vitality not just eliminate disease.

She moved with her family to Southern California at 16, finished high school and went to UCLA to graduate with a BS in Biology. Upon graduating from Osteopathic Medical school in California, she moved to Detroit, MI, for her Transitional Internship. She learned from Dr. Bland and incorporated his functional medicine practices before certification existed. She has trained in Acupuncture, Energy Medicine, Botanical & Nutraceutical Medicine and received certifications in many disciplines.
Dr. Martin is constantly expanding her medical education and growth, learning from teachers , researchers, and other doctors worldwide in addition to her patients. She loves investigating people’s issues and understanding the root causes. This requires listening, examining, innovative diagnostics, and putting it all together. However, she has learned that the biggest influence on our health and well-being is our own lifestyle choices.
